Horizontal & Vertical Reducers:
Mineral-based gear oils (ISO VG 150 to 460) are commonly used.
Synthetic oils (PAO or PAG-based) for extreme temperatures or high-load conditions.
Epicyclic (Planetary) Reducers:
High-viscosity synthetic oils (ISO VG 320–680) to handle high torque and shock loads.
Ambient Temperature

For Flender B3HH/B4SH Series: Typically use ISO VG 220 or 320.
For High-Speed Reducers: Opt for lower viscosity (ISO VG 68–150) to reduce friction.
Heavy Dust/Moisture: Use extreme-pressure (EP) gear oils with anti-wear additives.
Food/Pharma Applications: NSF H1-certified synthetic lubricants.
Marine/Corrosive Environments: Corrosion-inhibited oils (e.g., Mobil SHC 600 Series).
First Replacement: After 100 operating hours (initial break-in period).
Regular Maintenance:
Normal Conditions: Every 6 months or 5,000 operating hours.
Harsh Conditions (high heat/dust): Every 3 months or 2,500 hours.
Oil Analysis: For critical applications, conduct oil sampling to monitor degradation.
✔ Never mix oil types (e.g., mineral + synthetic).
✔ Check oil level monthly—maintain between min/max marks.
✔ Pre-filter new oil to remove contaminants.
✔ Use Flender-approved lubricants.
